A Word from our Executive Director— Summer 2023

From the Executive Director’s Desk….

 

We hope you enjoy this issue of the Pawsitive Teams quarterly newsletter. You’ll find articles on our newest service dogs in training, a review of the workshops we hold for our therapy dog teams, things you can do to train your pups when the summer/fall heat comes, articles on our new Facility Dog offering and on Facility Dog Cork’s promotion, our Comfort Corner, and other tidbits.

 

As you can imagine, our all-volunteer Board of Directors members have amassed a lifetime of expertise. In putting this newsletter together, we confess we are taking advantage of our newest Pawsitive Teams Board member’s skills! Carmen Velasquez is the Vice President of Marketing for The Honest Kitchen and knows a lot about delivering information in short, easy to digest, online offerings. She has offered her assistance and is joined by new PT volunteer Jessica Parker to launch this quarter’s newsletter. Jessica also has a wealth of email marketing experience to add to the mix. Our team now includes Carmen and Jessica plus Margery Squier, Marilyn Schultz, Alisha Mai, me, and our advisors, Board Chair Jean Gertmenian and co-founder Carol Davis. As you can see, it does take a village!

 

Finally, as you walk around your village, do remember your four-footed companions. It is the season for all sorts of things that can harm our dogs, including but not limited to, rattlesnakes, fleas and ticks, fox tails, and much, much more. Stay safe as you enjoy all that San Diego has to offer.
