WANTED: Service Dog Trainers & Assistants!

An update on our Service Dog program

By Carolyn Peters

Let’s start spring by celebrating the birthdays of our trio of brother service dogs in training: Born on March 22, 2022. Sundance and Mac (also known as “officer friendly”) have been training for a year and are ready for placement. Both have responded well to our process of interviews, meet and greets, and home visits. Thank you to Karen Colson for sponsoring Sundance and Susan DeRose for sponsoring Mac. Although joining us later than his brothers, Whiskey continues to mature and improve his retrieval tasks and opening heavy doors, we extend our gratitude to Lisa Bosstick for being his sponsor.

But that’s not all! We’re thrilled to welcome Tiffany Ferguson to our team. With over 25 years of invaluable training experience, Tiffany brings knowledge, particularly in canine rehabilitation. We’re eager to see how her expertise will further enhance our training programs.

We will soon bid a bittersweet farewell to Marcy Piasecki as we celebrate new beginnings. Marcy’s dedication and time have been instrumental in shaping our Pawsitive Teams Service and Facility Dog Programs and the overall operation of our organization. As she embarks with her family on a new journey back east, we express our gratitude for her invaluable contributions. We will greatly miss her presence, support, and commitment. With Marcy’s departure, we’re excited to announce that Tiffany will take over Coco Brulé’s training for our facility program.

A huge thank you to our assistants who help our trainers in and out of the training facility! We could not advance our dogs in training without you.
